At Narita Airport at the moment. I feel like a pro at this airport now. My 3rd time here! Everything went crazy on the keyboard so I can`t talk on msn... :/

So stoked at the moment. Looking forward to seeing Nile and then hooking up with Justine on Friday. :)

Hope all is well back home... I`ve got a lot to look forward to and its just hitting me now..! Spain and Morocco are going to be amazing. I`m really glad I`ll be doing that with my mum.

Another 12 and a half hrs on the plane though which is crap. I have a feeling the flight will be packed too..

SHUT UP!!! already about commercialism you faggots! In case you forgot it's called 'SAINT Valentines Day'. If anything, Christmas is more commercialised so have a whinge about that but don't expect any presents you spoilt little whining tards! And Hallmark?!?!?! They make cards for everything! I'm sure they didn't magically go back in time and create St Valentine's Day for the future profits of their company.

Valentine's Day started in the time of the Roman Empire. In ancient Rome, February 14th was a holiday to honor Juno. Juno was the Queen of the Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also knew her as the Goddess of women and marriage. The following day, February 15th, began the Feast of Lupercalia.

The lives of young boys and girls were strictly separate. However, one of the customs of the young people was name drawing. On the eve of the festival of Lupercalia the names of Roman girls were written on slips of paper and placed into jars. Each young man would draw a girl's name from the jar and would then be partners for the duration of the festival with the girl whom he chose. Sometimes the pairing of the children lasted an entire year, and often, they would fall in love and would later marry.

Under the rule of Emperor Claudius II Rome was involved in many bloody and unpopular campaigns. Claudius was having a difficult time getting soldiers to join his military leagues. He believed that the reason was that roman men did not want to leave their loves or families. As a result, Claudius cancelled all marriages and engagements in Rome. The good Saint Valentine was a priest at Rome in the days of Claudius II. He and Saint Marius aided the Christian martyrs and secretly married couples, and for this kind deed Saint Valentine was apprehended and dragged before the Prefect of Rome, who condemned him to be beaten to death with clubs and to have his head cut off. He suffered martyrdom on the 14th day of February, about the year 270. At that time it was the custom in Rome, a very ancient custom, indeed, to celebrate in the month of February the Lupercalia, feasts in honor of a heathen god. On these occasions, amidst a variety of pagan ceremonies, the names of young women were placed in a box, from which they were drawn by the men as chance directed.

The pastors of the early Christian Church in Rome endeavoured to do away with the pagan element in these feasts by substituting the names of saints for those of maidens. And as the Lupercalia began about the middle of February, the pastors appear to have chosen Saint Valentine's Day for the celebration of this new feast. So it seems that the custom of young men choosing maidens for valentines, or saints as patrons for the coming year, arose in this way!

My name was in 3 applications sent in this morning at 9am on the dot for The World Cup. Fingers crossed at least one of them pulls through... :/

They received over 14,000 applications for 8,500 tickets. (Keep in mind each application probably has requests for at least 3 tickets so approx 42,000+ ticket requests). About a 1 in 5 chance I'd say. Chances aren't as slim as I thought they were...

Fingers crossed until after 2pm Friday. If I get at least one ticket I'll be drinking myself stupid Friday night! :D

Anywho... weekend was awesome! Best I've had in such a long time!

One and a bit more days of work to goooooooo!

They didn't have a Triumph stall, so no luck on my jacket. Kawasaki didn't have the ZX-14 either.

Saw my dream bikes there... the lovely Honda CBR 600RR (I'm being realistic here... even though the 1000 is wayy nicer) and the Yamaha R1. It is SEX! I'm so leaning towards wanting to buy their YZ250. When I get the money and improve on on-road bikes I really want one of those babies. Problem is finding the place and time to ride it...

It's funny how they don't need women to promote the bikes anymore by sleazing over them. They're just soooo hot now that a dirty blonde fake-tan slut would totally ruin the look of the bike.

Went and saw Wolf Creek last night. A disturbing movie, I must say... even though I may seem brutal and not affected by anything..
It's more than just gore, it's mentally fucked.

Oh my. Trying to do long posts at work can lead to frustration when you’re forced to quickly close all explorer windows due to the I.T guy deciding to reconfigure all computers in the office.

Well.. I did have great reviews of all these movies.. I guess I’ll have to start from scratch again. Edit: I just realised it’s almost impossible to write the same thing twice without sounding 100 times shitter than your first attempt.

Still yet to see Wolf Creek.

Movies I’ve seen since I got back… and short reviews for those interested:

Look Both Ways
Little Fish
The Devil’s Rejects
The Magician
The Proposition
Night Watch

Look Both Ways was a real life lesson. Bits of animation incorporated to understand the thoughts and imagination of the characters. Follows the lives of some typical Aussies in a country town. A real eye opener if you can understand what messages this film is sending out. I’m glad I saw it pretty much as soon as I got back from o/s, helped me out a lot. Great film to watch for those confused about life issues, it really helps achieve that understanding and puts things into context. Definitely not one for the immature/unintelligent.

Little Fish was similar in ways to Look Both Ways. I guess us Aussies are just clever movie makers. The thing I loved most about this film was the acting. Absolutely brilliant high standard acting. I’ve never seen Kate Blanchett in a better role. You walk away with an appreciative outlook on your own life.

The Devil’s Rejects is….well…brutal and gory. It may get a review of zero for the disrespect and devaluation of human life, but I still think this film was great. I stand by my belief that Rob Zombie is an excellent film-maker. For a group of people to actually walk out of the cinema in disgust, one with puke in her hands, I’d say that’s a pretty good effort. :D
Much preferred the ending of House of 1000 Corpses though… I don’t like when sequels are made to end the story in a ‘fine and dandy’ sort of way.

The Magician was a great effort at filming a movie over 2 weeks with a budget of $3000. It’s made out to be an autobiography of the life of an assassin, but is purely fictional. I really related to the main character in terms of his opinions. One of those movies where you find your self saying “That’s SO true!”. Some great humour in this one. Filmed mainly on a hand-held camera in Melbourne. Definitely underrated. Deserved much more credit.

The Proposition. Missed the start, which I’m sure had some valuable information about pretty much what the whole film was about… but managed to catch on after a while. Thought I’d accidentally walked into ‘Pride and Prejudice’ at first.. haha. Nick Cave has done a brilliant job with this one. He should definitely stick with movies. An excellent script, some good cinematography too.

Night Watch. A disappointment really. I was expecting it to be pretty awesome considering I’d heard people mention it was a great film. Got the impression it was trying to rip off The Matrix…but in Russian. It didn’t really follow on a plot. Got a bit lost, and wasn’t really as intelligent an idea as it made out to be. Another vampire sort of movie with a twist.

All in all, the Aussie movies come out on top… there’s some fantastic ones on at the moment I suggest you all go and see. We really are coming up in the industry.

Lost my phone last night....

Ohhhhhh how hungover I am today.....

Went through a decent amount of VB jugs last night with Deano. Then Ari turned up :D Then I went home. Then I tried to sleep. Then I puked in my bin..haha. Then I got up at 4:30am to dispose of the evidence. Then it dripped all over the carpet. Then chunks flew out when I swung the bag into the bin.. haha YAY! And man it's hard to get chunks of vomit out of a woven bin... gets stuck in all the crevices.

Mum this morning to my dad "There's something outside next to the bin that looks like vomit" My dad's response "Oh that's probably sawdust" Quite a valid response considering he's been cutting wood and stuff.

Oh what a night! Tonight I think I'll keep off the piss... and go home with my bros instead of drinking after the gig.

Dinner with Adelaide Simon first, then pre-drinks with the boys... Except I might have to sit there and watch. (Oh yeah RIGHT!...I'll probably end up as sloshed as last night).

While I was overseas right up until now, I've been having pretty brutal dreams...

The other night I had one I can't quite remember.
I was with a chick who looked like the one from the Exorcist...
with the fucked up green face... she was trying to make me drink this guys blood that she'd just decapitated in front of me earlier. She'd filled a glass up from one of his arteries. Apparently I was supposed to turn evil by drinking the blood I think... kinda like that Eddie Murphey movie.. Little Buddha(?) or The Omen I guess... So I drank it.. can't remember the rest?

My dreams always involve people getting hacked up... although it's never me dying I don't think?
Weird... because they're the only sort of dreams I ever seem to have. Just pure brutality/murder etc...
